Novelist, poet and scriptwriter Irena Obermannová was born on April 17, 1962 in Prague. After passing her leaving exams at the Ohradní grammar school (1980), she graduated in drama and script-writing from Prague film school FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts) in 1986.

Milena Oda was born 1975 in the Czech Republic, in Stara Paka. She is a german writer for prose, novel, theatre play, lyrics and essay. She studied German and history at the Philosophical Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc (CZ). She also studied in Germany and Austria, and in England (Cambridge).

The writer, translator and essayist Patrik Ouředník was born in Prague on 23 April 1957. After finishing his basic education he worked as an assistant in a bookshop, an assistant archivist, warehouseman, postman, labourer and ambulance man. From 1974 to 1976 he studied acting and directing at a People’s Art School in Prague. In 1985 he emigrated to France. He translates from French into Czech (Rabelais, Jarry, Queneau, Beckett, Vian and others) and from Czech into French (including Vančura, Hrabal, Holan, Skácel and Holub).
