Primarily a musician but also a painter and writer, František Ringo Čech was born on 9. 7. 1943 in Prague. He trained as a television repairman, but at the same time he was already playing percussion and he began to perform with brass and Dixieland groups and later developed an interest in other branches of art besides music. After 1989 he also entered politics, he was a member of Prague City Council and from 1996–1998 a member of the Czech Parliament.
