Petr JANEČEK

(b. 1978), ethnologist and folklorist. Petr Janeček studied Ethnology and Humanities at the Philosophical Faculty and the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, Prague.

He researches contemporary prosaic folklore – urban legends, rumors and anecdotes. He is the author of a literary trilogy of collections of contemporary Czech folklore Černá sanitka (The Black Ambulance – 2006, 2007, 2008). Mr. Janeček currently works as the head of the Ethnographic Department at the Historical Museum of the National Museum and also as a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, Prague.
