Pavel Kosatík was born in Boskovice on the 13th of June 1962. He graduated from the Prague Faculty of Law (1984), worked as an editor in several publishing houses and for the editorial board of the newspapers Mladá fronta Dnes and Hospodářské noviny and the magazine Reflex.
He is the author of biographies and literary-historical books dealing with modern Czech history. In 2006 the publishing company Horst brought out its “collective biography” of the Šestatřicátníci [The Thirty-Sixers] (Václav Havel, Josef Topol, Věra Linhartová, Jiří Kuběna, Viola Fischerová, Pavel Švanda and others).
He was awarded the Ferdinand Peroutka prize for journalism in 2009.
