Pavel Mandys (born in 1972) is Literary and film publicist. He graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague (journalism and mass communications). Since 1991 he has published in newspapers and magazines (Mladý svět, MF Dnes, Český deník, Lidové noviny).
Between 1995 and 2010 he was an editor at the magazine Týden, leading the culture column in the last half-year; since 2010 he has been an editor of the internet literary magazine iLiteratura. In 2000 he prepared the publication Idiot a jeho návrat (The Idiot and his Return) with film director Saša Gedeon to coincide with the release of the film Návrat idiota (Return of the Idiot). In 2003 he received the Novinářská křepelka Award for journalists under 33 “for erudite perspectives on the cultural scene”. In 2001 he co-founded the Litera civic association, which since 2002 has given away the Magnesia Litera Book Award each year.
