The work of Tomáš Mazal (born 22.3.1956 in Prague) represents a journey from a spontaneous interest in interesting, mainly peripheral personalities and the unconventional achievements of the underground to publishing, writing and journalism based on an intimate knowledge of the milieu and individuals. He was involved in samizdat publishing before 1989. Since 1989 he has mainly been involved in publishing the works of Bohumil Hrabal, as well as others such as Egon Bondy.
