Šimon ŠAFRÁNEK
Šimon Šafránek (b. 1977 in Prague), fiction writer.
Graduated secondary school, later worked in Czech Television as an assistant producer and dramaturg, today he is the editor of the website www.dokina.cz. He works in film publicity and documentary filmmaking: he is the creator of film studies about fans of singer Nick Cave (The Myth, 2004) and technoculture (Czechtekk Love, 2005); he has also directed several videos and short films. He lives in Prague and Berlin.
He has published a bilingual, Czech-English collection of short stories Ohnivá kola / Fiery Wheels (2000), the novella 23 (2005) and the novel Fleischerei 36 (2008).
