Petra SOUKUPOVÁ
The fiction writer and screenwriter Petra Soukupová was born on 25 July 1982. Petra Soukupová (1982) studies scriptwriting and dramaturgy at FAMU. She works as a scriptwriter and producer. Her script based loosely on motifs from the novel K moři was awarded the top prize in the second year of the Nadace Barrandov & RWE scriptwriters’ competition. The book K moři also won the Orten Prize for Young Writers (2008) and the book Zmizet the Magnesia Litera Prize (2010).
In 2009 Petra Soukupová came third in the Sazka Prize with her script Na krátko. The prize is awarded for hitherto unrealised feature-length scripts. She was awarded the prize at the Český lev awards ceremony. Her book Zmizet is a collection of three short stories, one of which was inspired by the script for Na krátko.
