Marie Šťastná (* 6th April 1981, Valašské Meziříčí) is a Czech poet and winner of the Jiří Orten Prize. She studied at a secondary school with a pedagogical specialism, and history of art and subsequently history of culture at the University of Ostrava.
She has participated successfully several times in the literary competition Ortenova Kutná Hora, which is intended for male and female poets up to the age of 22. She was awarded third prize in 1999, an honourable mention a year later, second/third prize in 2001, another honourable mention in 2002, and in 2003 she was the first in the history of the competition to win the first prize. In 2004 she was awarded the prestigious Jiří Orten Prize for her collection Krajina s Ofélií [Scenery with Ophelia]. The prize is for authors up to 30 years old and its laureates include the writers Michal Viewegh and Pavel Brycz and the poet Radek Malý. In 2006 she published the collection Akty (Protis, Prague). In 2010 she was awarded the Dresden Poetry Prize. A collection entitled Interiéry has been prepared for publication (Host). She currently lives in Prague.
