The prose-writer David Zábranský was born on 3 March 1977. David Zábranský graduated from Charles University in Prague in media studies and law, to which he devoted himself until recently, working exclusively in the non-governmental sector.
He has worked for Poradně pro občanství [Counselling Centre for Citizenship]. His first novel, Slabost pro každou jinou pláž (Any beach but this with the sub-title Poznámky k moři, smíchu a duchu doby), was brought out in 2006 by the Argo publishing house. His second book, with the title Šternův pokus milovat (Stern's attempt to love), was published in 2008, again by Argo. In 2007 David Zábranský won a prize in the category Discovery of the Year in the literary competition Magnesia litera. He lives in Prague.
