Czech Poet Karel Šiktanc receives the Jaroslav Seifert Prize for the second time

Karel Šiktanc is the first laureate to receive the aforementioned prize twice – he was awarded the first one in 1989.

He received the prestigious literary award, bestowed each year by Charter 77 since 1986, for his poetry collection Nesmír published last year by Karolinum.

The jury, presided over by the literary historian Jiří Brabec, emphasized the author’s tireless effort to “search for new prospects for the idiosyncratic language of the poetry”.
