Mongolia (Paměť mojí babičce [All Of This Belongs To Me], 2002; Magnesia Litera 2003), the United States of America (Cirkus Les Mémoires, 2005) or Siberia (Stanice Tajga [Taiga Station], 2008). Her latest novel is Strážci občanského dobra [Guardians of the Civic Good] (2010). She was born in Prague on July 12th 1979 and graduated in Mongolian studies and culturology from the Arts Faculty at Charles University. “It is very difficult for me to write about the Czech Republic,” she says, “I don’t have enough distance from it. It is too close to me. […] I feel that there is much more autobiography involved when I write about the Czech Republic than when I write about Mongolia or the United States, and I have a problem with that. I can’t write like that, nor do I want to.”
