Rose is thirteen. She has two older brothers a domineering father and a mother suffering from tuberculosis who has been staying in a sanatorium in the Alps for many months. As she waits for her mother to return, a plague epidemic breaks out. Rose and her family are trapped, quarantined in the claustrophobic atmosphere of her indifferent home.

Praise

The Plague is a disturbingly romantic comic book about the end of the world.”

The Plague has a peculiar romantic atmosphere, the characters find themselves in a peculiar fairy-tale-like timelessness. This is what makes Josefína and Milada’s work so effective.”
