Literarischer Lenz in Centrope literary festival

Czech authors Kateřina Rudčenková and Martin Reiner took part in the eighth annual festival in Vienna.

On the occasion of the eighth multilingual ‘Literary Spring in Centrope’ literary festival, authors from Austria, Czech republic, Hungary and Slovakia met in the last week of May in the ‘Theater Brett’, Vienna to read from their newest works. One representative of the Czech literary scene was Kateřina Rudčenková with her collection of poems Chůze po dunách (Walking Along the Dunes), which is about the unease of a person aware of her own humanity. Martin Reiner, the second Czech author, introduced his biographical novel Básník (The Poet, A Novel about Ivan Blatny) which was awarded the 2014 Magnesia Litera Book of the Year prize and tells the story of the surrealist and member of Group 42, Ivan Blatný.

Other participating authors were: Bettina Baláka (A), Kathrin Röggla (A/D), Melica Bešlija, Antonio Fian (A), Anna Jókai, László Darvasi (HU) as well as Uršula Kovalyk and Agda Bavi Pain (SK).
