All of Jaroslav Rudiš's novels published as e-books
On the occasion of Jaroslav Rudiš's 40th birthday, his publisher Labyrint prepared e-book versions of all of his novels. The event was titled "With Rudiš to the Sea" and brought together Heaven Under Berlin, Grand Hotel, Silently and The End of Punk in Helsinki in all e-book formats (mobi, epub, pdf). The e-books went on sale June 9 through Internet retailers as well as AppStore.
Rudiš said that he has had an e-reader for a while and uses it very often. "Of course I still buy traditional books but it's useful to have everything in your pocket, especially when travelling somewhere. So I'm happy that now it will be possible to take my books on a train or trip oe even on a vacation to the sea."
Jaroslav Rudiš is not known only as a novelist, but also for plays for the theater and radio as well as for screenplays. He recently finished writing a play called Národní třída that will be put on by Brno's Divadlo Feste company in October under the direction of Jiří Honzírek.
Rudiš writes in both Czech and German, and likewise splits his time between Germany and the Czech Republic. From October he will teach creative writing and Central European literature at Berlin's Humboldt University.
Together with Jaromir 99 he created the comic trilogy Alois Nebel. The film adaptation released in 2011 has proven very succesful in Germany and at home, and was nominated for the prestigous Max und Moritz prize
