Denemarková and Placák set to appear at the Berlin Literary Festival

The Czech writers Radka Denemarková and Petr Placák will participate at the 10th year of the International Literary Festival in Berlin scheduled for 15 – 26 September 2010.

Petr Placák, the author of Fízl (The Cop) - fictionalized memoirs depicting the years preceding 1989 spent under police surveillance, is featured in the cycle Geheimdienste und Künstler in Osteuropa. 1945-1989 (Secret Police and Artists in Eastern Europe. 1945 – 1989), while Radka Denemarková will apear in the main cycle Fokus Osteuropa (Focused on Eastern Europe).
