Sinologue and Book Club winner Josef Hejzlar dies aged 84
Sinologue, art historian, translator and columnist Josef Hejzlar passed away at the age of 84 at a Prague hospital.
Together with his wife, he wrote the book Na řece (On the River), awarded with the Book Club Literary Prize last year. Hejzlar planned a follow-up even after his health had deteriorated. "We’d like to keep his legacy alive. We have enough materials to draw from in future," says his relative E. Junková.
