‘Captain Kid’ Jaroslav Velinský dies aged 79
The acclaimed writer, lyricist, songwriter, musician and publisher passed away on Sunday, 19 February 2012 in Ústí nad Labem at the age of 79.
„In Velinský, Czech music and literature has lost an important personality who had a major impact on a wide array of authors within the realm of tramp and folk songwriting. Velinský’s literary oeuvre secured him a respected position among Czech crime novelists as well as science fiction and adventure genres,“ proclaimed Velinský’s colleague and friend Josef Vejlupek.
