Flóra Peťovská

Translator, publisher. She studied Czech and Hungarian at the Faculty of Arts of the Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest, where she also completed her linguistic doctoral studies. She works as a programme officer and librarian at the Czech Centre in Budapest. She is involved in the promotion of contemporary Czech literature. She teaches languages and translates academic and artistic texts from Czech and Slovak. She mainly translates fiction (e.g. Jaroslav Rudiš: Národní třída, Dora Čechova: I Didn’t Want To Be Lenin, Matěj Hořava: Brandy), literature for children and young adults (e.g. Tereza Vostradovská: Hravouka; Taťána Rubášová and Jindřich Janíček: The Wonderful Robot Expedition) and theatre plays (e.g. David Drábek: Chocolate Houses). She is the founder and artistic director of Csirimojó publishing house, which focuses on publishing the best children’s books from around the world.
