Tereza Novická is a California-born literary translator based in the Czech Republic who has translated a number of Czech and Slovak poets into English, such as Ondřej Buddeus, Sylva Fischerová, Nóra Ružičková, Olga Pek, and Jan Škrob, for various poetry festivals and periodicals. Her co-translation of Vítězslav Nezval’s The Absolute Gravedigger (Twisted Spoon Press, 2016) was awarded the PEN/Heim Translation Grant in 2015. Her most recent translations include the monograph Ludvík Šváb: Tidy Up After I Die (NFA, 2019), Aviaries (Twisted Spoon Press, 2019) by Zuzana Brabcová, and Nezval’s Woman in the Plural (Twisted Spoon Press, 2021), translated with Stephan Delbos.
