Rose is thirteen. She has two older brothers a domineering father and a mother suffering from tuberculosis who has been staying in a sanatorium in the Alps for many months. As she waits for her mother to return, a plague epidemic breaks out. Rose, her brothers, father, the dog Toník and their revolting cook are trapped, quarantined in the claustrophobic atmosphere of her indifferent home…
