The programme is for literary events (festivals, readings, book launches, lectures, debates etc.) in the Czech Republic and abroad during the fourth quarter of 2017.

The financial support can cover up to 70% of total costs for the event and its allocation and amount is assessed by the Czech Literary Centre (CLC) travel committee which gives the Moravian Library in Brno (MLB) recommendations regarding the allocation of support. If the organiser is awarded support, they can receive 40% of the awarded amount before the event (based on an invoice and a copy of promotional materials/a website screenshot or other proof that the author will be taking part in the event) and 60% after the event on the basis of a final report, invoices and documentation (the rules for the contents of these documents will be set by the MLB in a contract with the organiser).
The financial support can cover up to 100% of the total costs. The author may only apply for appearance and travel fees. A condition of the application is that the event organiser must provide the author with adequate accommodation (i.e. not at the expense of the MLB). This must be confirmed by a contract between the author and the event organiser. Furthermore, the event organiser must agree to include the CLC logo in its print and promotional materials, the author must prove this agreement when submitting the application. The author must also include an invitation letter from the event organiser in their application.
The CLC travel committee decides on the allocation and amount of financial support. The author will receive 50% of the awarded amount before the event (within 5 days after paying for travel, i.e. the purchase of tickets etc., the author is required to prove this payment to the MLB, failing which they are obliged to return the 50% of the awarded amount to the MLB) and the remaining 50% on the basis of a final report, invoices and documentation (the rules for the contents of these documents will be set by the MLB in a contract with the author), or they can receive the full awarded amount after the event on the basis of a final report, invoices and documentation (the rules for the contents of these documents will be set by the MLB in a contract with the author).
The earliest the event can be held is 25 October 2017 and only after signing the appropriate contracts between the MLB and the applicant.

Further conditions to the application are stated in the application form, which is an integral part of this request for financial support and is binding for the applicant.
Application submission deadline: 24 September 2017, results will be announced 6 October 2017. The applications are assessed by the MLB travel committee.
The next call for applications for travel support for 2018 will be announced in the autumn of this year.
