The Dutch translation of Marek Šindelka’s novel Únava materiálu has ranked well in surveys abroad on the best book of the last year. The Flemish Knack magazine rated the translation of Marek Šindelka’s novel Únava materiálu (Materiaalmoeheid in Dutch) as the best book of 2018. Another flemish magazine, Humo, ranked this book third in its list of the 12 best books of 2018. The author of the novel posted about it on his website, as did his Dutch translator Edgar de Bruin on the social networks.
