This year, the annual Bohemistics Seminar, which has been supported for many years by the Czech Ministry of Culture, was organised by the Větrné mlýny publishing house, who gave it the form of a tour of literary Moravia. (Past organisers include the Czech Writers’ Guild, Book World Prague or the Prague Literature House.) During this marathon, more than two dozen Bohemists from the whole world including those who have translated books by Czech authors into their language, such as Xu Weizhu from China, Tatjana Jamnik from Slovenia, László G. Kovács from Hungary, Tetiana Okopna from Ukraine, Christina Frankenberg from Germany or Anželina Penčeva from Bulgaria had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with literature from industrial Ostrava, the meditative Bítov Castle and cultural Brno. The seminar took place during the Authors’ Reading Month, which is also organised by Větrné mlýny.
